S.V. Iliushin was a famous Soviet plane constructor; this aviation museum was founded in his former office in 1979, and is dedicated to his memory. The museum's five galleries contain exhibitions that illustrate both, the lives and major achievements of the most well-known Russian plane constructors and the course of Russian aviation history. There are documents, photographs, video documentaries as well as a live model of an Il-96-300 plane. There is also a real military airplane, an Il-2, which was made in 1942 during World War II. Visits are permitted by appointment only.
