This quarter was once a village separate from Barcelona in centuries past. If you walk along the centre of Sants, you will notice the narrow streets and the small houses. At once time, it was an industrial quarter with textile factories that no longer exist. What still remains, however, is the Park of España Industrial. Also in this quarter is Sants Station, which is in front of the Plaça dels Països Catalans. Close to the Plaça de Sants one will find Les Cotxeres, an old tramway deposit converted into an exhibition centre or dance hall, depending on the occasion. In any case, it is worth visiting the quarter, and a must for urban flâneurs.
