The so-called San Jose "Talaia" is the mountain range that includes the highest point on Ibiza, from which you can see almost the whole coastline, as well as the rocky isles off the coast of the island. The route to the top is marked by a series of little wooden signs on the old Cala d'Hort road. You can take the journey by car, on foot or even by mountain bike (for more adventurous). In the 1970's, a plane crashed in the Rocas Altas area of these mountains, and a small chapel was built there in memory of the victims.
