Where to Stay

You will find the largest number of hotels near Central Station and fewer in the old city centre. The city has an enormous range of hotels and many cater to business travellers. This means that during the weekends prices are often slashed.

There are many stylish and expensive hotels in Antwerp but cheaper accommodation can also be found. Budget hotels and bed and breakfast formulas are also available. However, be aware that 'Kamers' or Rooms has nothing to do with accommodation in Antwerp: it is a discrete way of advertising very intimate services that are rather different from a room for the night.

City Park Area

If we start at the top of the range we have wide choice of first-class hotels around Stadspark or the City Park: Tulip Inn Astoria, Golden Tulip Carlton and Plaza Hotel are just a few. These are five or four star hotels with all amenities and a fantastic location. You're in a pleasant neighborhood and near the diamond trading centre.

The Corinthia Hotel Antwerp is in the same league but just outside the city centre near the motorway. The Astrid Plaza hotel opposite the station and with its impressive modern design has quickly become an icon in the city centre.

In the Old City The Antwerp Hilton is situated in the older part of the city on the Groenplaats and near the Cathedral. In this area you'll find some really unique small hotels like De Witte Lelie, a so-called petit grand hotel, the very picturesque Hotel Rubens is just behind the Grote Markt, and Best Western Hotel Villa Mozart opposite the Cathedral. For those seeking something different, consider lodging on the Diamond Princess, a hotel-boat or 'floatel'. The converted mail boat lies in the oldest section of Antwerp's harbour.

Reasonably-priced hotels and guesthouses Accommodation at more reasonable prices can be found in various neighbourhoods in and around Antwerp and also in some of the districts like Edegem, Mortsel and Berchem.

Cheap accommodation is available around the station (Billiard Palace) in the Sailors Quarter (Zeemanshuis) and for example Rubenshof in the south district. There is also a youth hostel.

Guesthouses with bed and breakfast are also very popular in the Berchem area, around the Antwerp Court of Justice and along the wide avenues Amerikalei and Italiëlei.Wcities
