The tramway museum gives visitors the chance to relive the past by offering actual rides in vintage trams rather than just displaying them. Visitors can really appreciate what it was like to ride in these trams during summer months, letting the fresh air in through open windows and doors. The trams run along a former railway track by the Amsterdam Forest, the largest recreational area in Amsterdam. Several attractions in the forest can easily be reached on foot from the tram stops. There are trams from cities all over Europe: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Vienna, Kassel, Berlin and Prague.
