In 1662, renowned architect Philips Vingboons built the structure that houses the Biblical Museum. Located on the Herengracht Canal in Amsterdam, this museum is one of the oldest in the Netherlands. The museum has a vast collection of archaeological discoveries, artifacts from ancient Egypt, models of the temple of Solomon and Herod, and religious objects from the Judeo-Christian tradition. Its prized possession is the 19th century model of the Tabernacle, a reconstruction of the sacred shrine of the Ark of the Covenant.
