Where to Stay

Whatever your reason for coming to Caracas, business, tourism, congresses, conventions or art, you will always find a good place to stay.

The type of accommodation you'll find will always depend on the cost, location and services that you are looking for. But because of the enormous number of hotels all over the city, it should not be difficult for anybody to find exactly what they seek. There are very luxurious and not so luxurious places, there are aparthotels (apartment hotels) and there are very cost-effective hotels. In short: a big variety to meet all demands. Whether you're staying at an expensive hotel, or otherwise, you always have to book your room well in advance. There are three kinds of hotels in Caracas and the rest of the country: those with three, four and five stars. Obviously, those hotels offering the best facilities and services are the most expensive. Prices tend to stay the same all year round.

Among the most important hotels of Caracas are:

Sabana Grande:

Gran Meliá Caracas (five stars). Apart from having a wing with very luxurious rooms, the hotel offers accommodation in fully equipped flats for those who wish to stay for a month or more. There are five restaurants, three bars, a huge convention center, a business center, fully equipped with fax and Internet services, e-mail and secretarial services. Simultaneous interpretation services are being offered, too, and there are two swimming pools, a big adult pool and a smaller one for children. For those who want to keep fit there is a gym and sauna facilities.

Chuao:

Hotel Eurobuilding Caracas (five stars). This luxurious hotel with 426 double rooms and 210 suites offers a good number of facilities such as satellite TV, bars, restaurants, 24-hour room service, parking, no-smoking rooms, conference rooms, office services, swimming pools, sauna, gym and a beauty salon.

CCT Hotel (four stars). This hotel is excellently located, right in the heart of the (better) east end of Caracas, inside one of the bigger malls of Caracas, the CCCT. If after a hard day at work, or a tiring shopping spree, you want a nice place to crash, the CCCT Hotel is the place to be. It offers two restaurants, two bars, a business center, six conference rooms, laundry services, beauty salon, gift shops, a huge gym, which is free for hotel guests, heated swimming pool and two tennis courts.

Las Mercedes:

Tamanaco Inter-Continental (five stars). Located in a rather exclusive part of the city, this hotel, with its 445 single rooms, 79 double rooms and 46 suites, this hotel is one of the most preferred by demanding travelers, artists and businessmen. Facilities include a bar, restaurant, parking space, no-smoking rooms, children's club, tennis court, swimming pools, conference rooms and office services. Every room comes with its own mini-bar, telephone, air-conditioning and satellite TV.

Hotel Paseo de Las Mercedes (four stars). With its 107 single rooms, 89 double rooms and a presidential suite, the Hotel Paseo de Las Mercedes has the privilege of being located in the eponymous mall, Centro Comercial Paseo Las Mercedes. Among its high-class services are the bar, restaurant, parking space, conference rooms, swimming pools, beauty salon, gifts shop and a gym.

Altamira:

Altamira Suites.

On the first avenue of Los Palos Grandes is Altamira Suites, just a block away from the metro station "Altamira." This five-star hotel offers a restaurant, bar, beauty salon, swimming pool, tennis court and parking garage.

4th Avenue Suites The minimum stay in this hotel is seven days. Because of the limited number of facilities it offers—a small gym, parking garage, laundry and cleaning services—this hotel meets the needs and desires of executives and businesspeople. The suites are fully equipped flats, including kitchen, Internet access and telephone with direct dialing, air-conditioning and cable TV.Wcities
