Southwest winds from the Atlantic mean that Swansea has a varying range of weather conditions. Essentially it's cool without extremes of heat and cold. Winters are mild, although there have been thin layers of snow recorded in January and February in recent years. Summer has an average of 7.5 hours of sunshine a day, ideal conditions for heading to the coast. Annual rainfall is around 1100mm.
