In general, spring and autumn in Savannah bring some very pleasant weather, although spring can sometimes be over, all too soon, by late May. The region's humidity makes the air feel a lot hotter, but sea breezes tend to keep things cooler along the shoreline. The extreme south of Georgia is considered sub-tropical, with mild winters and long steamy summers, although the weather can occasionally get dramatic, with tornadoes, periodic droughts and flooding. Year-round rainfall is fairly average, however.
