Getting there
The Savannah International Airport is about 8km (5mi) west of downtown. If you're driving, Savannah's Historic District lies an easy 24km/15mi drive east of I-95. Greyhound buses run to Atlanta, Charleston and Jacksonville. The Amtrak train station is 6.4km (4mi) from City Hall; there is no bus service, you must reach it by car or taxi. Three 'Silver Service' trains per day go south to Jacksonville, continuing on to Miami. Northbound, there are two trains per day to Charleston.
Getting around
You don't need a car to enjoy Savannah. If you have one, it's best to park it and walk or take tours around town. Chatham Area Transit operates local buses, including a free shuttle that makes its way around the Historic District and stops within a couple of blocks of nearly every major site.
