Eindhoven's weather is temperate with cool summers and mild-to-cold winters. The temperature average peaks at 22°C (71°F) in summer and there's rain, rain and more rain in July through to September. Rain can last for weeks on end, so when the sun comes out everyone hits the streets. Global warming is a matter of concern for the Dutch; unseasonably high temperatures in summer have caused and an increasing number of heatwaves. The effects of global warming are not limited to rising temperatures; the spring of 2005 saw record snowfalls and freezing temperatures.
