Cambridge shares the temperate maritime climate of most of England, though it is slightly warmer and drier than other parts of the country. It is one of the driest places in the UK, but being located in the middle of fertile farmland it still has the occasional flood. It has an even spread of rainfall throughout the year, the wettest month being July and the driest being February. The hottest month is July, averaging 17°C (62°F), and the coldest month is January, averaging 3°C (38°F).
