The RHIW Shopping Centre
RHIW is Bridgend's shopping mecca. Step inside and experience the retail bliss of over 20 shops, some of which are allegedly famous. If that's not enough, the historic Indoor Market promises more than 30 stalls selling a variety of produce and goods to tempt your tourist palate.
Bridgend Bus Station
Bridgend's award-winning bus station opened in November 2004. The multi-million dollar structure features solar rooftop panels, a landmark tower, extra bays (yay!), ample room for buses (hoorah!) and a simple entrance/exit system never before seen in a bus station. It's truly a first-class facility worthy of its Institute of Logistics and Transport award.
Ogmore Castle
The area around Bridgend has always been well defended in a bows-and-arrows kind of way. Along with Coity Castle and Newcastle Castle, Ogmore Castle makes up the Norman lordship trio. Built by William de Londres in 1116, it once stood 12m high. Admittedly, Ogmore never saw much action - but it certainly kept the Welsh out of the region.
