The Blaue Ente (literally, "The Blue Duck"), opened in 1986 in a former mill, is still considered one of Zürich's most trendy addresses. Many of the regulars here are considered big players in Zürich's arts community. The surprising interior design, which plays on its past as an industrial building, is very inspiring. As one might easily deduce from the name of this restaurant, which is separated into two parts spanning a now stationary mill wheel, they do a great line in duck! The Barberry Duck in Cranberry Sauce with Wild Mushrooms and Leaf Spinach (for two) is particularly lovely. This restaurant is highly recommended for seafood lovers, and they stock a sterling collection of wine.
