What do The Muppets have to do with Leo Tolstoy? Combining these two sounds like an impossible task, or at the very least a bit bizarre, but puppet theatre Kanavana has decided to give it a try. With dolls made in the spirit of, "The Muppet Show" and "Sesame Street," puppet theatre Kanavana has set out to give their audience advice for life, by letting it experience hardship second-hand through Tolstoy's writings. Kanavana is run by Tricia and Reima Honkasalo, and does not have a permanent stage but travels around Finland with its productions. The theatre is based in Tampere and also offers courses in puppeteering.
