Celebrations in honour of the national saint used to be confined to one riotously drunken day in Ireland, but now the country rocks for the duration of a 'St. Patrick's festival'. A fleadh is a dispersed and informal concert of traditional Irish music; free gigs are held in most pubs and a larger concert takes place in one of the fine little squares in the Temple Bar area. A great time to be in Dublin.
