Where to Stay

Now the state's insurance and banking capital, Jacksonville spread out for miles, making this city of about 700,000 the largest metropolis in the nation. Through it all streams the wide St. Johns River, one of the few rivers in the United States that flows north!

Downtown

Downtown is filled with many options for travelers. Pricey accomodations include Riverfront Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Radisson Riverwalk, both convenient to downtown attractions such as the Jacksonville Landing and the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. For a bed and breakfast experience, try the Plantation Manor Inn, a four diamond winner located near the River. Antique furnishings and elegant architectural details make this a popular choice. The House on Cherry Street has also won many awards for its quality. When you've come back to your room, be sure to spend some time on the screened in porch out back. Inexpensive options are also plentiful: the Best Western Executive Inn, La Quinta Jacksonville Baymeadows and the Super 8 Motel are all mainstays in the hospitality industry, offering comfortable rooms and friendly service.

Jacksonville Beach

Beachfront hotels are also plentiful, with reasonably priced options abound. The tropically-themed rooms at the Sea Horse Oceanfront Inn offer all the comforts of home. The Ruby Inn by the Sea is a newly-restored bed and breakfast that offers kayak, bike and surfboard rentals. The Brampton Inn is convenient to many cafes, shops and local attractions. The rooms at the Pelican Path Bed & Breakfast by the Sea are large, with balconies and hot tubs available in some. At the Fig Tree Inn Bed & Breakfast, service is top-notch, and the rooms provide guests with all they need to enjoy a beach-side vacation.

Airport

Those in town on business or only for a short period of time will enjoy the many hotel choices near the airport. The Clarion Hotel Airport, Holiday Inn, Comfort Suites Airport and Motel 6 - Jacksonville Airport offer some of the lowest rates in the city. The rooms at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Jacksonville Airport come equipped with a desk, and the option of a whirlpool. If money is no object, check out The Club at Hammock Beach, which offers windsurfing, sailing and spas, among other extras. There are also business amenities for those looking to do some work in their time off from relaxing.
