Getting there
Almost all travellers arrive by air from Libreville, Gabon. There are daily flights to and from Libreville on either Air São Tomé e Príncipe or Air Gabon. Direct flights from Portugal are available from TAP Air Portugal There's a departure tax, payable only in cash dollars, plus an additional fee of around 3700 dobras, payable only in dobras. There is an occasional passenger ferry service from Libreville but the schedule is erratic; ask at the port in São Tomé or check at the offices at Port Môle in Libreville.
Getting around
Air São Tomé e Príncipe has three flights a week between the islands, and there are infrequent ferries. Many of the roads are sealed but potholes make the progress slow. There are plenty of taxis and colectivos (share taxis) on São Tomé that connect most towns. Príncipe has just 12km (7.4mi) of roads, and its only public transport is a red minibus.
Visa information
Everybody needs a visa, and the best place to get one is in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
