I lived in Idaho Falls for seven years. All though the winters are cold, the sking is fantastic and close. When the falls in the center of town freeze, it's a sight to see. The west side of the river has the best motels and resturants in town and the greenbelt along the river backs up to most of them. I have caught trout at the base of the falls, and have fed the wild geese when they stop on thier was North and South. The spring and summer are the best times to visit unless you are a skier. You will be close to Jackson Hole, ski resorts, Craters of the Moon and mountians. Take your camera, stop at the Blue Room for the best burger you have ever had and check out the stars at night. No light polution or smog to interfer.
