You just cant beat the Jacksonville - St. Augustine area. St Augustine might just be the perfect place to live. All the surfing and fishing you can handle. Great restaurants and pubs, and all within walkig distance.

The sign and road design is the worst I've ever seen. The signs and directions encourage slow traffic because they are meaningless. Whole sections of Jacksonville will have ONE road name but they simply change the road type. Example: Bay Meadows Way, Bay Meadows Court, Bay Meadows Drive. The problem is that you must pull over, get out of the car, ignore the honking, walk up to the street sign and read the tiny road type writing to know if you need to turn on "Road," "Way," "Circle" or any of the ten others. Traffic gets little warning of what to do. For example, if you are downtown you must follow an array of signs that all seam to tell you what to do at the last minute. This makes people slam on the brakes at the last minute in order to turn. The time and frustration it takes to navigate isn't worth the good deals you can get. Terrible place to do out of town business because of these inefficiencies.
