Overall

five stars

My fiance and I just got back from DC and have fallen in love with the city. We stayed outside of the city in Tysons Corner and drove to downtown every day (about 15 minutes tops). This city is unbelievable! First of all, almost everything is free-the museums, the zoo, all the monuments. There was not one place we visited that we had to pay for. We even saw President Bush drive by on his way to the capitol! (whether you like the man or not, it was a pretty cool thing to see) No building is taller than the capitol (per city ordinance), and there is grass everywhere-people running and flying kits all over the place. Georgtown was awesome too-total college area, which we love, with tons of restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. We also went and ate in Chinatown one night, and that area was a little "shady" on one side of it; it looked a little run down... All in all, this trip was fabulous! I had gone when I was a kid, but this still blew me away! There is so much to see and do that even in a weeks time, we could not fit it all in. I mean, you could spend one day alone at all of the sites. My fav was the supreme court lecture and the zoo. We got to see baby cheetahs that were just born, and of course the famous pandas! I am in love with this city-even considering a move there! The city really reminds me of Europe with all of the historic buildings to see....
