Vail is far and beyond the best ski resort in the United States. I have nothing bad to say. When we were there, the temperatures were in and upward of the 50's. Three mountains were closed, and we didn't even ski half of what was open in a full week! Don't fly in, drive from Denver. It's very scenic, and more reliable (if somewhat less safe).
