Loved the Gerbeaud!
I loved the Gerbeaud and can't wait to go back to Budapest to visit the Gerbeaud again! On a nice day it's the perfect place to sit and people watch or chat with friends. The desserts are absolutely wonderful. The capuccino is also good, but the thick hot chocolate is even better. The atmosphere is very old European. It was definitely worth a visit, which I did 3 times. I would recommend going for coffee and dessert.

Since 1858 Gerbeaud has dedicated itself to the Art of Pastry. On Vorosmarty Ter (Square) Gerbeaud is where God goes when he wants an espresso and Esterhazy Torte. Even something as prosaic as a Ham and Cheese sandwich is presented with quality, value and old world flair. Order the hot chocolate and feel what it must be like to be an angel in heaven, with a cocoa jones. A Kremez and a Double Expresso is the perfect end to a day's shopping, but do remember that Budapest is Europe's Smoking section if that bothers you.
