Manchester - where the streets are paved with vomit

one star

Really one of the abominations of 'civilization' where the dreadful weather is only slightly better than the character of the local people. The best thing that Manchester has going is an eclectic architecture, which if it wasn't ruined by the inhabitants with grime, litter and vomit, would be a second rate European destination. If you like the charm of Pittsburg and Milan, then Gunchester is the place for you. If you prefer civilized living, give this hole a pass.

Manchester, the home of the people x

five stars

This is to Absoloute Dier, How dare you slag off manchester ! Manchester is the home to the funniest, down to earth, hard working people i know. It is the home of the ordinary and the extrodinary. We have art, history, food, cinemas, shopping, parks, Theaters all in one city. We are not scruffs so stop making out like we don't respect our own city because we do. We are the second city whether you like it or not and for you to try and come on here, and make sly digs at the people of Manchester when you are being given the chance to view your opinion publically is disgraceful. i hope you find your self amusing because i certainly don't.

Absolutley Dier!

one star

I really do hate Manchester with a passion! The people are rude and unfriendly, the streets dirty and litter is everywhere, The hotels are quite good but nothing to rave about. I did not enjoy any of the time i spent in Manchester, and i certainly won't be going back in a hurry, and this place thinks it's the second city, don't make me laugh!

I loved Manchester. I used the local tram service to go round. However when I went there was a massive fire but Manchester is great for local record shops, I went and got a Sex pistols book.

Visit this city!

five stars

Manchester is my favourite city. Although I live in the south of England I don't get to go there much but try to go as often as I can. The people are really friendly and it's such a lively, modern city with plenty to do. Great for weekend/city breaks.

four stars

For us a newly discovered jewel of history and architecture- Loved the trams:-) Brilliant transport system-BUT as we came 3x from Macclesfield where son/wife live-- travel on railways is Hideously expensive,,, a real deterrent....But-- hoping to be back in Dec. The science museum is a must see.
