An Amazing Experience

four stars

Las Vegas is such an exciting destination. However, probally not for families as there is not much for children to do. I cannot understand how people can say, "I couldn't wait to leave!" because the atmosphere is incredible: Go there!

Great for: Theatre/Music, Nightlife

The Amazing City of lights

five stars

No-one can truly prepare you for the size of the hotels in Vegas, you think that when people tell you about the place it seems like they are exaggerating....until you see it for yourself, that is whats its about seeing it for yourself. I have been to Vegas 4 times and i would go again at the drop of a hat. All the hotels have different themes and you travel the world when you stay in vegas. Egypt,Italy,France & the Middle East are all right there to name but a few. Vegas suits all budgets too, you can go opulent and spend a fortune and you can also go cheap yet you will still come away from the place utterly in love with it. It does also cater for kids which they don't really tell you, i went with my wife & 18 month old daughter and had a fabulous time. I recommend the Mirage for a hotel which has the most beautiful pool and family attractions such as the dolphin habitat and Zoo, while New york New York has an incredible atmosphere in their central park themed casino. Eating out is superb too, try the studio cafe in the MGM for a hidden delight while the ESPN Bar in New York New York gives you sports action while you dine but for just the most amazing view of the Bellagio fountains while you eat right on the strip then you have to go for Mon Ambi Gabi at the Paris hotel, but ensure you get the terrace as its an experience and the food like everything else in Vegas is unbelievable. Go there and fall in love with the place.

Great for: Theatre/Music, Nightlife, Family Holidays

value everywhere you look

five stars

We love Las Vegas. My wife will not put even a nickel in a slot machine. I am the gambler in the family. But she loves the place. The buzz, the hotels (first class or whatever you want), the entertainment, the restaurants. If you are looking for a cheap but good hotel try the Boardwalk. It's cheap, it's on the strip in a great location.

Great for: Theatre/Music, Nightlife

Never again Cesar's!

three stars

Stayed at Cesar's for the first and last time. Found them overpriced offering the same thing everyone else does at twice the cost. Gaming tables difficult to reach and when I did discovered very rude employees. So I did what most would do took my cash to another casino. Lastly did they have to go out of their way to find the oldest drink girls in town. Good Ridance Ceasar's.

Too much hype for too little pleasure.

three stars

Vegas was ok not all it's cracked out to be. Yes I partied to the fullest but nothing I can't do at home in Seattle. if I want to gamble I can go to the Muckleshoot's Casino. Too much hype for too little pleasure.

I'll be glad when I can leave!

two stars

Bring lots of money and walking shoes. You'll need both. Shows are very expensive. (It cost me $225 for Celine Dion -- buying three days in advance and $99 for Cirque du Soleil (KA). Hundreds of expensive shops are located inside the hotels. Everybody smokes in Vegas -- either first-hand or second-hand. Drinking while strolling down the street is common. Hundreds of hispanics stand along the strip passing out cards with pictures of nude girls and their phone numbers. (This is not a family friendly welcome.) Don't try driving your car down Las Vegas Blvd. It is a traffic nightmare. What I liked was the architectural features of Paris, the Venetian, New York New York, etc, and the beautiful gardens surrounding and inside many of the hotels. And try to find half-prices same-day show tickets near the huge Coke bottle next to the MGM Grand Hotel. But if you like drinkin', smokin', girls and gamblin' you've come to the right place. Find hotel discounts in the "Traveler Discount Guide" and try the $1.75 two-egg, potatoes and toast breakfast at the Ellis Island casino, located next to the Super 8 on Koval. And room rates at the Super 8 aren't bad either. If you are looking for cheap food in the hotels look for the food court or food near the swimming pools where families are most likely to hang out. And as for the new Wynn Hotel -- don't bother. Ugly is the first word that comes to my mind when describing the interior, gaudy bright colors that seem to be in search of a theme. And the new astroturf lawns, instead of grass, is a real treat for the eyes too.
