In nice weather, a great place to vist

four stars

I visited Minneapolis for a conference and was pleasantly surprised by what the city had to offer. The Walker Art Center's sculpture garden has world-class art, including "Spoon Bridge with Cherry" from Claes Oldenburg as well as sculpture from Henry Moore and Alexander Calder. I attended a regional theater performance of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" at the Guthrie Theater and found it completely entertaining. The downtown area around Nicollet Mall offers great restaurants and plenty of shopping. There is a very fun restaurant called Hell's Kitchen with theme-appropriate attired (but still not tacky) waitstaff serving a menu of food worthy of my neighborhood in NYC. In fact, there was another excellent restaurant called Mission American Kitchen. The menu is New American, and it is located in a mall, but don't let that concern you; it is most definitely not a TGIFriday's. I would go back to Minneapolis and recommend it to others. The people were very nice and there is plenty to see and do.

Minneapolis here I come!!

five stars

I love Minneapolis. We've been there a few times and always found exciting things to do. With all of the activities, from outdoors to shopping to nightlife, Minneapolis really does have it all. We love Minneapolis so much we are moving there at the end of May. Have not been to St. Paul yet, but I am sure it is nice as well. Would definitely recommend Minneapolis to anyone, vacationers or those wanting to move, because the possibilites are endless

Got to see and do the Mall Of America!

four stars

Overall a good place to visit. Many things are not open until May (we went in March) but still worth the trip. Marriott's is great. Clean air. Went to many Perkins restaurants for lunch and breakfast. Excellent good and service. Will visit again when we can.

Got to love the Spoon in the sculpure garden!

five stars

My husband and I took a week long vacation to Minneapolis last fall right as the leaves were being to turn. We were surprised at how warm and pleasent the weather was. We loved our little vacation! There is so much to do! We loved the mall of America! Lots of fun! It is also close to 2 other states which are short drives away. That makes it nice too! It is a little hard to navigate so if you can take the transit train it is great! If you get a chance you have to see the Spoon Bridge sculpture in the sculpture garden. I think we got 10 different pictures of it while we were there!

Best City Ever

five stars

By far one of the best cities I have ever been to. It's a hidden gem. Consistently one of the best citites in the United States, and it really shows. Downtown is so beautiful, Uptown is great, and it's so clean. Tons of restaurants, and it was ranked as the "hippest/coolest" city in the United States. I am planning to move there in a few years, and live a great life. Unlike Indianapolis, Chicago, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Columbus, New York, Detorit, theres ton to do outside of downtown. Everything is so up to date and new as well. Tons of diversity, and its very close to the Mall of America. Minnesota is a great, fun state as well

A Hidden Jewel

five stars

Minneapolis and St. Paul are very lively, exciting and beautiful. There is a lot to do and see, museums, parks and if you like shopping, you're in for a treat. The Mall of America (Largest in the USA); Southdale (Oldest Enclosed in World); plus many regional malls have all the options. Many cultures thrive here, including Hmong, Somalians and of course the Scandanavians. The cities are very different, Minneapolis is the artsy, hip, younger sister to older and more mature St. Paul. The Twin Cities are consistantly ranked one of the best places to live, but they are also one of the best to explore.

Chicago is much better

one star

Let's see, it's cold, the people are all idiots who talk like canadians and drive like grandmothers, and the city basically has a 8:00 curfew, at least that's when everything closes.
