Great for: Nightlife, Family Holidays

(Report Problem)I lived in Boston for 3 months and absolutely enjoyed it. You can go downtown any night of the week and you will see a vibrant city full of energy. There are countless things to do: freedom trail, aquarium, U.S.S. Constitution, restraunts, Fenway, great night life, and top it off with a visit to Little Steve's Pizza for some good late night eats. Not the most practical city to live in due to its extremely high cost of living, but that is the east coast for you. Oh, traffic is a pain and finding your way around the city can be frustrating since only half the city is based on a grid layout.

(Report Problem)This was our first time to Boston, with roughly 3 days to spend sightseeing. I knew there was a lot of history so I wanted to see as much as possible. Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, Cheers, The USS Constitution, Harvard, MIT, Beacon Hill, and many more. We took 1 entire day to drive to Cape Cod. The spring season had not quite hit (Middle of April) so nothing was in bloom yet, but I bet it will be beautiful. We took a tour from Hyannis to Hyannis port. It was cold, but definetely something to recommend for only $12. Do your research on the web before going, so you get to see it all in a short period of time.

(Report Problem)Boston is a city rich with history, and more importantly, the people still care about the history. You can't talk to Bostonians about the Revolutionary War without them getting excited, worked up, and almost proud of what they feel like they did for the country. They don't feel the separation of generations; they see their history as something ongoing, something worthy of discussion. The seashore is gorgeous, the city is fun to explore. Boston provides a bunch of different attractions in close proximity to one another. It is definitely worth visiting.

(Report Problem)I was born in Boston and lived there for 16 years.Moved in 78.My love for sports tops my list of likes.Besides great competitive teams some of the greatest players have played in Boston.A close 2nd would be the rich history Boston has in the making of this great nation.A tour of the Freedom trail will give you a feel and taste of what this countrys forefathers went through.Boston also has some great museums with the art museum being rated as one of the best in the country.Seafood & Chinese food tops my list of some of the best foods Boston has to offer. Chefs in Boston are rated as some of the best in the world.Next would have to be the people. Not that you cant meet the wrong people, ButI have been to many places in this country and I can honostly say that in general Bostonians are more helpful, courtious and kinder people. Not because Im from there because I learned that through my visits back there after being exposed to other people in other parts of this country.Almost everyone I run into who never lived in Boston but had the pleasure of visiting has varified that fact.Public transportation also ranks high on my list. Traveling inside the city of Boston can never be ,not only easier but also inexpensive by using the subway. A little lost getting from point A to point B. Not a problem just ask a local and he or she will direct you in the correct direction maybe even with a tip about the place youre going all with a smile on thier face happy they were able to help you out. The end of spring through the summer months are the best times in Boston but if you havent experienced personally the autumn folliage that Boston has to offer a trip in mid October to late November could be a good idea. Just remember to dress warm. Unless youre a kid, going skiing,or would love to have that white x-mas aviod December-March months. Its one thing seeing the weather in the news that its 15 degrees in Boston from your warm state of Florida and actually being in that 15 gegrees. The snow and the cold tempertures really makes getting around slow and difficult not to mention uncomfortable. Living in Miami now, the warmer winter months and beautifull beaches are probably the only plus I give Miami over the great city of Boston. The summer months of Miami are just unbearable most of the times. The Florida Marlines may have won 2 World Series but thats nothing compared to what the Boston Red Sox did in 2004 for thier die hard Sox fans after so many years of collapses. Why do you think they have what they call a Red Sox Nation. Few becuase people fell in love with the team but mostly they are made up of people who used to live in Boston & now live elsewhere but are forever linked to Boston. To show how in love Bostonians are with thier city if you ask someone who used to live in another city where they used to live they would tell you,"I used to live in so and so place." but if you ask someone who used to live in Boston where they used to live they would say,"Im from Boston." They would reply as if they were still from there and I suppose,as a Bostonian,in our hearts we are still from there.I guess for all the reasons that we Bostonians still feel like we belong to the great city of Boston all the people who never lived there but have visited that Ive come across have all expressed the same thing, that Boston is a great city.

(Report Problem)This was a wonderful city for a weekend away! It was only a four hour drive to get there, and there was plenty of things to see and do. We were able to walk most of the city in the two days we had, and the atmosphere was comfortable and safe where ever we went. (Of course, we are from NY, maybe not everyone would think so.) So many places to eat, historic buildings, parks everywhere, everything seemed clean. I would go back there anytime!

(Report Problem)Boston has everything you could want whether you are looking for a great family vacation or a fun/romantic long-weekend getaway. Great sites and history, fun attractions and places to visit, wonderful food - especially the seafood! Even the "tourist traps" are unique and fun. Go often! Stay as long as you can!

(Report Problem)Boston was one of the greatest cities I've visited! There are so many things to do in and around Boston. I really enjoyed the New England Aquarium and the Science Centre. It was easy to get around the City on the Subway system the T, which is realitvitley clean, and a good price to ride ($1.25 one way). There are several trolley tours of Boston that you can take, you should take one of them ( I think the one I took was Old Time Trolley tours, they were good) to see the major highlights of the city. And the freedom trail is good too, it's a long walk however. But there is something for every type of person in this city!
