Baltimore has a couple of great Art museums- The Walters and Balt. Museum of art. Be safe, take a cab to either one. Personal safety in Baltimore is YOUR responsibility. The police are there to clean up messes and write reports about how you were victimized. The best part of Inner Harbor is the fudge shop where you can see some old fashioned singing and dancing while the workers make the fudge. It's a real treat!Watch out for the old shell game hustlers that hang out around the city markets. I recently went back for a visit with my girlfriend. I lived in Balto. in 1990 and it was okay back then. Now it's a whole new game! If you consider yourself a nice person, leave your friendliness at home. You wont need it in Baltimore. If you go anywhere in foot, be vigilant. The scenery in Baltimore changes quickly and a few steps can land you in the wrong neighborhood. Have fun!!!!

(Report Problem)I did my master's thesis on Baltimore, and spent a fair amount of time documenting and studying it. I found it fascinating... primarily because of it's potential brought on by its past bad luck. The city is struggling to stay alive, but still retains vibrant pockets of urbanity, and its affordabilty results in a diverse population characterized by a pragmatic sensibility.

(Report Problem)Baltimore has the worse of the South and North USA. I has a fast pace but the people are overstessed and incapable of keeping up with it. Nor does it have the cultural and artistic desirables of most Northern cities. Baltimore lacks the warmth and hospitality of the South. Low literacy rates are reminded by thier logo "the city that reads" an encouagement to the many who can't read. Honestly many young people can't read there. Its like a DMZ zone due to high crime. They have NO sense of humor or intelectual persuits.

(Report Problem)Baltimore is the perfect big city that feels like a small town. It is divided into unique neighborhoods that give the city a certain culture and atmosphere that you don't get in Philadelphia or Washington DC. It is inexpensive to live here, dine, and shop. Baltimore is very same, if you are not involved in the drug trade, and there a lots of attractions, great food, and a nice waterfront area. Baltimore also has great universities such as Johns Hopkins, Towson University, University of Baltimore, and the School for the Arts.

(Report Problem)Baltimore has many great restaurants and bars including almost a dozen brewpubs including The Brewers Art, Du Claw, Thirsty Dog and The Wharf Rat. It has great seafood, Indian, Thai, Greek, sushi and tons of other restaurants and if you play the specials right you can have a great meal with drinks for under $15 easy. There are many great free and cheap things to do and it has many world-class museums like The Baltimore Museum of Industry and The Walters Art Museum. Great parks like Patterson Park with a Victorian pagoda, ice-skating, rolling paths and lots of history. There are many great theaters and tons to do at night. The National Aquarium and Port Discovery are great places to bring kids. When you add in a Baseball and Football team you are talking about a great place to spend a vacation.

(Report Problem)Baltimore is a GREAT place to visit. I'm not sure what that guy Brian was talking about, he must be bitter about something. Truly an awesome site to see.

(Report Problem)Spent a short but wonderful weekend in Baltimore. Stayed at an elegant downtown hotel, took in the Babe Ruth Museum, enjoyed the atmosphere of a night baseball game at the terrific Oriole Park at Camden Yards, ate the best crabcakes in the world at a quaint streetside cafe, toured the various shops along the beautiful Inner Harbor area. Everything was in walking distance. A memorable weekend.
