the town is just downrigt dirty and unsafe, the hotel rates are outrageous, and have no consistancy in rate levels

I loved the history and atmosphere of the French Quarter. It was fun and fascinating. The food was wonderful, never had so many kinds of gumbo!

THE FOOD IS GOOD. BUTB THE STENCE OF THE LACK OF SEWAGE IS A REAL PROBLEM. OF COURSE THERE'S THE CRIME TO FEAR AS WELL.

New Orleans is a romantic place. The pace is slow, the atmosphere warm and friendly. Historical buildings line the streets and the food is wonderful. I enjoyed walking around which I found safe, except in a few remote areas, and enjoyable.
