This place has some of the coolest old buildings I have ever seen. The food is spectacular, and most of the people are too. Okay that said this place is not for the faint of heart. Bourbon street is not for Children. I only say that because I've seen children on Bourbon street. Stay out of the housing projects by the casinos. They don't look like projects but they are. Stay on the main streets. If you feel comfortable in a big city you should do fine. I don't mean a big city like Boise Idaho or Springfield Illinois, I mean a big city Chicago Uptown, Gary Indiana, Oakland California. Ya get it. Try a tour Group .

(Report Problem)Did not enjoy the Mississippi Queen cruise; boring and the ship had roaches (several years ago). Loved everything else about the city.

(Report Problem)New Orleans is someplace unique to the United States. It has a very European feel. The food and entertainment are great.

(Report Problem)Out of all the places I've visited, New Orleans is my favorite. It is quaint and romantic, with both the feel of a small town and a big city. It has something for everyone, from the craziness of Mardi Gras to the laid back atmosphere of the French Quarters. Then there are the trolleys and the sculptures in the park. It was wonderful! Don't forget to sample the various hot sauces, cajun food, and french cuisine while you're there.

(Report Problem)I truly enjoyed my visit to New Orleans, and plan to return next year. New Orleans has a lot to offer, and I regret not taking full advantage of it. Next year when I return, I will take in more sightseeing. This time, I got a little preoccupied with the night life, but it's a very interesting city. Bourbon Street is a must after midnight!!! Take a nap before you go, and ladies, avoid wearing high heels! The Marriott on Canal Street is a must. 5 star all the way. The staff is friendly and helpful and room service is 24/7!

(Report Problem)Fun for every member of the family. Just outside the city are the River Parishes where all the beautiful plantation homes are. I could spend another 2 days there alone!!
