This is where I'm getting married!

five stars

I loved everything about Oahu! Why? Though there was a lot of city, the people were great and the weather was beautiful. I love the culture.

great trip

four stars

Hawaii is much more reasonably priced than people think it is. If you can find a good airplane price, the hotels and activities are no more expensive than anywhere else. Don't let the intimidation of the name keep you from visiting.

Where East meets West

five stars

I liked Honolulu so much I just moved here! If you want to appreciate all Hawaii has to offer spend a few days in Honolulu before rushing to a quiet island. If you can, stay at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental for a great calm beach or at The Halekulani for the Waikiki experience. Immediately adorn good Aloha attire and head outdoors. Aside from possibly the best beaches of all the islands (see especially Lanikai and Hanauma Bay), Honolulu and Oahu also have: the mysteries of Chinatown, the madness of Waikiki, and the views from Diamondhead. Also take a drive around Hawaii Kai to Makapu'u Point for wonderful views that spring on you in sudden leaps of beauty. Then spend some time at the Bishop Museum or The Polynesian Cultural Center to understand the culture of the islands. If you have the time we love The Honolulu Academy of Arts where we often eat a splendid lunch. The Honolulu Symphony is also top notch. For Hawaiian music look for Amy Gilliom, Na Leo, or the Cazimero Brothers. The great Blues musician Taj Mahal has also gone Hawaiian lately. The North Shore is of course the place to go for the surfer vibe. After a few days in the trade winds, you may end up moving here too! Aloha.

We go back every year

five stars

My wife and I go every year around the same time as the Aloha Festivals. The festival is a week long event that starts with a "block party" in downtown Honolulu, then ends in another "block party" in Waikiki. Aside from that, there are plenty of things to do there, especially if you just want to relax.
