I need another carraige ride

five stars

The tours were wonderful, the city was beautiful, the history and stories of the town cannot be duplicated a great experience. If I ever decide to by a getaway apartment it will be here. From Spanish moss to a sunset river walk you can't be the flair of this unique city.

You don't know what you've go 'til it's gone!

four stars

Since moving away from Savannah, I have noticed quite a few changes when visiting. I definately appreciate the history and beauty much more than when I lived there; I actually like to do the "touristy" stuff now. I love walking throufh the squares and recalling elementary school lessons; I love eating in unique cafes and such; I love the experience of driving down a refurbished Broughton St; I love getting to the beach any time I want; and I love the numerous options for dining. My concerns about traffic have greatly improved with completed phases of the parkways. However, I am not sure if there are improvements regarding my concerns for safety in most of the places I would like to travel within the city. As far as real estate goes, what can you do? There's so much desire to live in historical and waterfront or accessible areas, and Savannah is loaded with both of these.

Great destination for the family

five stars

Shops, museums, and sights are unique and great for the whole family. The homemade candy featured in many of the small shops is out of this world.

A Warm City After a Cold New England Winter.

five stars

We throughly enjoyed the squares/park. We stayed at the River Street Inn and our room looked out at the river and the river walk-just beautiful. The variety of eateries and the ease of walking to them was a bonus (Parked the car for our three day stay).

Savannah is truly remarkable

four stars

Had a great time. Wonderful city and the locals are friendly. If you have a chance go on the Hearse Ghost Tour. The tour was fantastic and frightful and worth the money. The Riverboat cruise was horrible. The boat shows all the Savannah industries with all the chemical smells and filth included. River Street is nice although you can find better deals in town. Meals are less expensive in town too. Overall we would go back again!

A Place You Should Visit

five stars

I love Savannah! My huband and i dream of moving there one day. I am an artist and he is a chef. Savannah has SCAD and a great little arts community that i love to visit. There are many little shops and studios that offer art made by local artists, a lot at reasonable prices. Likewise, Savannah has some of the best restaurants in America! You hear a lot about The Lady And Sons restaurant, but we highly also recommend The Olde Pink House and The Pirate's House. There are nice little local shops, a mall, and outlet malls in the area for those who love to shop. There are many wonderful historical and scenic tours. There seems to always be some performing arts going on one way or another. There is plenty to keep you busy during the day, but a good night life also, if that is your thing. Savannah offers a few of the things beach towns have (it's about a 20 minute drive to Tybee Island, with a lighthouse), but it doesn't have that beach town atmosphere like all the spring break towns like Myrtly Beach, Destin, etc. I definitely recommend going for the bed and breakfasts over the chain hotel, in the end the price comes out the close to the same, and the amenities of bed and breakfasts and local hotels is definitely worth the few extra bucks. Overall, I would say that Savannah is a wonderful town you should see at least once in your life. It makes for a great romantic getaway or a good family trip. The people are wonderful there. Every trip we've made to Savannah has been so wonderful that it is nearly surreal. Everytime we come home, we start planning our next trip. It can seem a little expensive to some, but it is worth every cent (we're both college students, so we know it's definitely worth it!) I hope you like it as much as us.
