I plan to go often!!!
I LOOOOOOVE Key West!!!!! From the weather (I went in early October and it was great), to the food, to the activities, it is just plain wonderful. Getting around is easy because there is a shuttle service called the BONE ISLAND SHUTTLE that takes you all around the island from all the major hotels. It's cheap and very much worth it because it totally eliminates the need for a car and it comes around often. There is plenty to do and see. I ate lobster tails and key lime pie by day and took a champagne sunset cruise on a catamaran. There was nothing better. Make sure you enjoy some conch fritters and the sunset celebration at Mallory Square. Do all that and of course, RELAX!!! :-)

What a wonderful place to become very relaxed & forget about your worries! Everyone down in Key West area are very nice & laid back! Nothing worries them & you learn real quick how to relax! The most fun I had was just relaxing by the pool at the KOA @ Sugarloaf Key, FL! Shopping is an enjoyable experience, the museums were good and the one thing you need to experience is a slice of key lime pie dipped in chocolate! Have fun!

Me and My husband spent our honeymoon their, It was so beautiful with so much history here. We rode waverunners and during our tour we had dolphins come right up to us, we also saw small sandsharks as we snorkled in the dry tortugas. Great place to get it away from it all, you have all the needs in a small relaxed town.

Key West is a wonderful place to relax. Perfect for hanging out. Quirky, cool, mellow. Good food, good music, good drinks. Agree with another reviewer: if you did your homework, you would know the beaches aren't great. Bahia Honda State Park is an easy day trip for the beach, snorkel etc.

It was everything I imagined and then some. Been there 2x and will go back. The food is really great. Lots to see and do. Or you can just relax on the beach. Duval street is great to just go window shopping. Great to walk around and see the sites.

Key West is a great place to go and unwind for either the day or a week. I have been on several occasions and am planning to return soon enough. I have a feeling the people who are giving it poor ratings are those looking to find a beach and just soak up the rays for a week...as they have figured out this is not the place for them. Key West has never claimed famous beaches and only a moron would go without doing their homework. This location is for straights and gays and as long as you are willing to be accepting it is a wonderful vacation spot. Everything is convenient if you stay near Duval, and if not taxis are easy to fine. It has a Carribean feel but not the cost, and is a wonderful drive. The town has loads of history to bury yourself in and tons of great food to try. The nightlife is great and if you just want to kick back, take off your shirt and forget you have ever heard of a cell phone, then Key West is where you need to be.
