I have been to San Francisco five times and I have loved each time I have visited. I am actually going again. Each time I have gone I have taken someone that has never been and every time they have loved it! I even took some friends that had a bad experience there and they loved it because I knew what kinds of things make the city great! You have to go with a good attitude! I've stayed at Fisherman's Wharf and in Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf was the best! It's so convenient. Also every time I have visited I have taken public transportation and it is so easy! I hope that you will also have a great experience!

(Report Problem)I'm in San Francisco as I write this. This is definitely one of my top three domestic locations to visit. It's busy, but the options are excellent and the place is fantastic. Always take a jacket as it tends to be cool any time of the year. The homeless are pretty much harmless, but the panhandlers can be quite annoying. Take a walk from Union Square to Fisherman's Warf through Chinatown. It's great. Pass by Coit Tower and the Transamerica building on the way. Then cut west over to Lombard street before hitting the warf. This route only has one nasty hill. Other routes have more. If you have health problems, catch the cable car for all but Chinatown and the warf.

(Report Problem)There is nothing not to love about San Francisco. Even the fog is charming. There is so much to see and do - most of it is free! The people are friendly, the locale is picturesque. I lived there and now visit every chance I get.

(Report Problem)Im a 48 year old male and have lived in Northern CA for many years. I used to go to "The City" for concerts, in places like Winterland, (I still remember it was at the corner of Post and Stiner. One of the first dates my wife and I had was in San Francisco. We fell in love there and have been married 25 years. I say this to let people know that if you have never been and you want a romantic getaway its perfect. Now that I am older and have been there a thousand times, many times on business Im not as impressed. When my wife's brother visited from out of state we did the tourist thing with him and went up in coit tower. It was a very rare 100 degree day (yes it gets hot there once or twice a summer). As I looked from the tower the houses looked stark and to be honest ugly. This is a city with very little in the way of trees or landscaping (no room). One thing we enjoyed was taking our children when they were young on the walking tour of Chinatown. They do a great job and it was fun even in the rain. Another thing that we like is its close proxemity to some very underrated beaches. Just take highway 1 south and explore the beaches very fun. Another fun thing is walking across the Golden Gate. I have been to the door of Pac Bell Park but not inside for a game, but if you like baseball its a great place. In my opinion San Francisco is a graet place for people who have never been, a real change of pace. The more you go the less fun it becomes.

(Report Problem)There's no other town like this. The unique landscape with all the hills, the water, and the cable cars. Where else in the US do you find that? There's a lot to do for free, like taking the glass elevator in the Fairmont Hotel to the top and enjoying the view along the way as it goes up the outside wall. When at the top enjoy a drink in the Crown Room overlooking the bay with Coit tower in the distance. Nice!
