(Report Problem)As a former New Yorker and a present day San Franciscan, I am a little perplexed over the other review complaining about about the city's dirtiness and comparing the City By the Bay to the Big Apple. SF may have its grunge in a few neighborhoods, here and there, but it is one of the cleanest cities I have seen. I love NY and I love SF but I cannot compare the two. SF is gorgeous! It is a place where Mother Nature has been kind...the rolling hills, the lingering fog, the comfortably cool climate and the views of an incredible bay from one vantage point after another...what else can you ask for? Great food, great wine...interesting neighborhoods....ah, my home sweet home...

(Report Problem)From a distance on a sunny day, it is a beautiful city surrounded by water and the legendary Golden Gate Bridge. But once you get there, it is dirty, dangerous and crowded. SF is the homeless capital of the United States with one on practically every corner. There are 18,000 more cars than parking spots and the city services are woefully underfunded. We took a walk with our kids and saw billboards featuring two topless men hugging and advertising condoms and we saw needles laying in the street. The city does feature many wonderful, high-end restaurants but they are very expensive. It's not the place for everyone.

(Report Problem)I love going to San Francisco, especially during Christmas when the Christmas tree in Union Square is a lit up and the stores have all their decorations all set up. I've gone up to San Francisco several times and I just love to walk around and discover new neighborhoods. There are so many new little places to discover. A terrific place to eat for a special occassion is Campton Place Hotel. Last time I was there, I found a great shop for pets called George and a wonderful stationary place called Kozo's (sp?).

(Report Problem)A great city and surrounding area. You can stay in the city, or go north or south and have a wonderful time. Has to be one of the best places to eat in the world

(Report Problem)I have traveled throughout the world. I presently lived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. San Francisco is the most beautiful city I have ever experienced. It has so much culture and class. The restaurants are fantastic. The hotels are unbelieveably priced for what you get. San Francisco is not cheap and I hope it never becomes cheap. Shopping? All you want is there for the price. If I lived in San Francisco, I could not enjoy visiting San Francisco.

(Report Problem)Being from the city I can honestly say that it's one of the best places to visit or live. Altough it can get a little expensive, there's just a certain vibe that attracts you. From the cozy little neighborhoods to downtown, China Town, SOMA and Golden Gate Park, there is so much to see and do.

(Report Problem)I spent approx. 5 days there and it was beautiful. We went one morning, early and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge as the sun was coming up & it was breathtaking! There is so much to do & see too. We stayed at a Hotel near Union Square and on the Cable Car Line and we awoke to the Clang of the Powell line each morning. It was just a great experience.

(Report Problem)Had a different experience than anticipated. Thought the Golden Gate Bridge was okay - north country was nicer. Napa Valley was memorable.
