We stayed at a resort near the majority of the other resorts and it was a good distance from the main part of town. Took a long bus ride each way to get there. Once you got there it was pretty much the same as any other Mexican city that gets a lot of tourism from the US. The beaches were beautiful and relaxing though.

(Report Problem)We love PV, having been going there since 1991 (approx 8 times). Great restaurants, walking the Malecon at night, Rio Calle, the new Canopy Adventure in the Jungle is great, and just enjoying the weather, sights, etc. There is a good deal to do: horseback riding in the jungle or beach, boating, jet boats, parasailing, etc.

(Report Problem)We've stayed at the Krystal 5 times and have enjoyed the facilities a lot. However, there is new management and the check in was truly awful. No one got their accomodations, it took forever and they had a book of changes that had to be made. Those who made it in the book usually didn't get changed. What happened?

(Report Problem)I like Vallarta, have been there 6 to 8 times. Dining has become expensive. American city prices: $2 for a can of pop in some bars, $7.50 for a burger & fries, $1.40 for a one scoop ice cream cone. Great place to be in business... charge USA prices, pay Mexican wages. That aside, a good place to visit for the weather, the sights, the people. If you're lucky you might get there when the local residents are celebrating one thing or another and get to see & hear the festivities. The people are really nice, except of course, the time share sellers that jump you the moment you clear customs.

(Report Problem)I'm surprised PV is still considered a travel destination. The beach is terrible. The water looked and smelled awful. The only reason I went near the water was to get on a dive boat that took us somewhere else. The diving was poor as well. I visited in early October, so maybe that is a bad time of year for "red tide", but I am not exaggerating when I say that I would rather have put my hand in the toilet in my hotel room than in the PV ocean.

(Report Problem)We have vacationed in PV four times over the years. The setting is magnificent, dramatic mountains falling away into the Pacific Ocean with beaches all around the great bay. Excellent resorts, shopping, and restaurants -- at very economical prices. Lots to do and see, including whales and dolphins right in front of your balcony if you're lucky. The people are generally friendly and helpful. Overall, one of our favorite getaway sites.

(Report Problem)Went to Puerto Vallarta for one week for Spring Break 05. I have been to other places in Mexico but you can't compaire the town of Puerto Vallarta with any other in Mexico. May not have the beaches that Cancun has but the town makes up for it! I will go back for sure

(Report Problem)It was so full of life. I didn't want to go to sleep. All I wanted to do was party all night and then lay on the beach all morning to watch the beautiful sunrise with multiple women...It was great.
