(Report Problem)I've lived in Toronto for 14 years and I must say that it is one of the best cities I've ever been/lived in! Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and regardless of your religion, race, gender, and sexuality, there'll be something in the city for you. The food is pretty good and since I was little, I've always loved walking through the city. The city is organized into a "grid system", so it's easy to walk around and if you get lost, it isn't so bad. The cabs are usually a turquoise and yellow combo but they aren't that common. In the winter, there is also a great Winter Festival in the middle of February. Free breakfast for the early birds! Skating is also great a the Festival and I think you can still get freebies. The TTC is very convenient and most Torontonians (myself included) take it to work, school, etc. Plus, a bus comes every 5 minutes for most stops! The trains are also easy to use and the maps are easy to navigate. Here are some sites that you have to go to: -- Yorkville: bring your credit card because this place is expensive! -- Eaton Centre: a huge and expanding mall on Dufferin, can't miss it. There's a store for everyone -- CN Tower: breathtaking view, and the glass floor is so cool! -- Sassafraz Cafe: elegant cafe where you might even spot a celebrity! -- Kensington Market: a great place for vintage clothes and items. amazing prices -- Bloor: yet another shopping istrict for the upperclass. -- Roy Thompson Hall: great for classical music lovers. -- Hummingbird Centre: go see a show here! -- Honest Ed's: a bargain store that can't be missed because of the colourful lights display of the sign outside! -- The Royal Ontario Museum: great if you're into art. Fridays after 4pm are free on the odd Friday -- Paramount Famous players Movie Theatre: one of the best movie theatres in town. -- AGO: Art gallery of Ontario is a great site and you have to take a picture of the brown sculpture ouside -- Spadina Ave.(like a Chinatown): great cultural district where you can find great Chinese food at fantastic prices and you can't miss the Vietnamese sandwiches (they look like subs, try to get the non-spicy ones)! Places to avoid: -- 360 Restaurant: the food isn't that great and some people get dizzy. Do not get a window seat here if you are afraid of heights. Located in the CN Tower. Ettiquette: -- pick up after your pet -- 15% tip -- open the door for people -- don't bud -- don't get into someone else's hailed taxi -- at Tim Horton's (a Canadian chain of coffe shops) some people at the drive-thru pay for the people behind them. Usually a chain starts and its a great way to feel good about yourself! It is the largest city in Canada and with that comes a big use of energy and other things. The air is really bad in the summer and the humidity really takes a toll on the health of asthmatics and seniors. And for you small-town people, you likely aren't going to get shot. I've heard this so many times...

(Report Problem)Big city, Big cultural experience! I live here, and it is very modern and exciting, and there is such a mesh of cultures! The vast majority of people are not from here, so all kinds of food, music, and people are brought together in this single city. Lots of fun things to do and people to meet.

(Report Problem)I loved the parks because they give the opportunity for long walks by beutiful places. I did not enjoy the fact that people count too much on the air-conditioners when they are indoors...I prefer the real air even if it means exsessive humidity... The great thing is that there is never too much noise and that streets are pedestrians-friendly. I loved the hot dogs one can find anywere in Toronto.Toronto combines modern with classic and art with science in a balanced way.
