I've just recently moved for a year or so, but I've lived on the outskirts of Ottawa most of my life and have spent a lot of time in it and it's fantastic. There's loads to see and do, and it's all fairly inexpensive. It's not too terribly hard to navigate around the city, either. Want to go from one side to the other just hop on the Queensway and away you go. The Tulip Festival every summer is definitely something to mark on your calendar. And for you winter lovers, why not skate on the Canal; the longest outdoor skating rink in the world. Oh yes, and we have no seals in Ottawa... you'll have to go up north for those!
Great for: Beaches, History/Culture, Theatre/Music, Nightlife, Family Holidays
