This is the best city in the world. So many things to see and do it would take months. The theater is the best in the world, the food is much better than most people think, history is all around you and the underground makes everything accessible.

(Report Problem)Love the City, the people and not much for the food. Everythings are so expensive comparing to the US. I you are planning to visit, bring lots of money. Spending wise, one Pound spends like one US Dollard in the State. The value for your 1.00 in London is about 30 cents at home ( big mac at home is about $1.85 in london is 3.25 Pounds= $6.50)a fish and chips dinner for 4 at home is about $35, the North Sea restaurant in london cost us 65 pounds= $130. To be comfortable in London, 200 Pounds just your spending money for 2 people a day is about right. Book all your hotel rooms ahead. The Holiday Inn bloomburry booked at the ichotelsgroup.com cost me $100/night (room for 4); 275 Pounds (room for 2) at the front desk!!! Remember! to maximize your London experience, bring lots and lots of money......!!!!

(Report Problem)I've never been that enamoured of London. After a day or two, I always run out of things I want to see and end up going to a movie. I guess it depends why you're going. There are museums and good pubs. Take your pick. Otherwise, it's not that interesting a city to wander around. There are so many amazing places in this world, it just seems a waste to go to London.

(Report Problem)I LOVE LONDON!!!!! My favorite city. It has so much history and atmosphere. I went when I was about 10, but still loved it. I so wish I could go back soon. I loved everything about it.

(Report Problem)I visited London in 1997 as part of a Trafalgar Tour Package. I have always wanted to visit London and you could say I was pretty excited about my trip. We arrived in London at the ungodly hour of 5am. But I didn't care-I just couldn't wait to get out of the airport and just let the feeling of being in London sink in. A couple of bad experiences soon followed-first the weather-too cold. Then our hotel-the Swallow Hotel, was a nightmare. It was like being in a Fun House-I literally got lost inside since the layout of the hotel was a mess. But the bellhops and concierge were very nice and helpful. To make up for it's dissapointments was an afternoon trip to a shopping district called Kensington High Street. There we saw the real London-truly a city with a myriad of cultures and races-Indians,Bangladeshis, Pakistanis, Australians, Filipinos, Chinese, Irish, Americans, Blacks, Whites, Moslem, Anglican, Orthodox, Catholic, I saw them all and that was by just standing outside a McDonald's outlet. Amazing!!! An afternoon trip to Madamme Tussaud followed. The night was capped of with an eerie and goosebumpy night tour of the Sinister and dark secrets of old London. We went inside Ten Bells, the infamous pub where Jack the Ripper stalked prostitutes, Royal Albert Hall and it's ghost and the dark alleyways that was the scene of the Black Death. The following day was everything London-Parliament, Westminster, Tower of London, Thames, Buckingham and the Changing of the Guard, St Paul's, Big Ben, Picadilly, Harrod's and Trafalgar Square. The night was capped off with an English dinner of Fish and Chips. It was here where I got my first taste of the forgettable and yucky Carbonated Water. London was OK. Part of the charm of this city was knowing it's dark past. Until now, I get goosebumpy everytime I think of my visit to Madame Tussaud's Chamber of Horrors because everything shown there happened. And I was surprised to actually witness that Old London's once dark secrets still exists. Truly memorable, I can't wait to go back.

(Report Problem)One of my husband's favorite city. I've been there several times and have family who live there. The exchange rate may not be so good, but you can save a lot when you by the London Vistor Travel Card for riding on the Tube and Double Decker busses. In addition, if you like to see all those touristy places like the Tower of London or any of the galleries, try getting a London City Card. You can save a boat load of money rather than paying per place, which can get quite expensive. Great day trips to go to are Bath and Stratford-Upon-Avon (great to go once, but a total tourist trap) I don't eat in any of the hotels. They can charge you up to 5 pounds for breakfast, unless it is complimentary. I just buy some fruit, bread, at a shop and go. Much cheaper.

(Report Problem)If you don't like cities or are expecting the quaint english towns you read about in books, then London isn't for you. London has become a very industrial city. The people were very rude and not helpful. And find out ahead of time what the cover charge is to get into a club before you wait 30 minutes in line. Most were 13-15 pounds which means 26-30 US dollars if your American. I will say, one good thing is the public transportation. Very easy to get around.
