Traveling around Europe for a year from USA, I was disappointed with London. It was stressful, apart from one or two nice areas the people weren't friendly. If you look at them they scowl back at you. There's lots to do but everything is soooo expensive. The city is dirty. The tube system was unreliable as half of the lines were closed for repair and the buses we had to get instead were extremely slow. Amsterdam and Paris were so much more fun.

(Report Problem)people say that the folks in London are glum and gloomy like the weather, what utter nonsense! Being to London and embracing its culture and tradition as been the most remarkable experience I have ever indulged. People there are amazing, warm and so friendly. If I could go back.....YES in a heart beat!!!!!!!

(Report Problem)London Docklands is alive and well even though the Cutty Sark is still smouldering. We, my family and I just returned from London. We stayed in the London Docklands Travel Lodge. The Hotel is right by East India Docklands Light Railway and the staff go the extra mile to make your stay very pleasant indeed. Jump a DLR and jump off again at any place you fancy. Jump off at Canary Wharf, stroll around the shopping malls, eat at the restaurants or best of all get a box of Krispy Kreme donuts and just stuff your face with them before the Kids can devour them at the speed of a swarm of locust. Go into the city and see the sights via a bus tour or get onto the London eye. Go shopping, go see a show. Go see Nelson in his Trafalgar Square. We even had a tour of Westminster Palace thanks to our MP who got us permits just ring yours and ask. Its a great place to go and we all want to go back asap!

Thats where I stayed with my boyfriend at the time. He took me to Oxford.. Windsor Castle and we even got to see the Changing of the Guard, (Even he never saw it before) we just lucked out that day.

(Report Problem)I went shopping in the lovely Marylebone High street in London W1 last saturday and discovered the nicest market called cabbages & Frocksm just opposite the Conran shop. It is in a lovely round square with trees and benches dotted around where you can enjoy the traders french foods like sicilian sausages and homemade cakes. The also have a some great fashion stalls, I bought a lovely fresh summer dress from the Planetude stall. A real gem of a market overall. www.cabbagesandfrocks.co.uk. Speaking to a trader I discovered that the market is also opening in Maida Vale the 20th of May at St Joseph's School. It runs every Saturday in Marylebone form 11 till 5pm.

(Report Problem)For me, London is one of the most vibrant cities I have every visited. Actually, scrap that. It is THE most vibrant city. I love New York, adore Sydney, am IN love with Paris but there is something special about London. I love the fact that every different area or village of London has something unique to offer. My favourite area would have to be Islington. Upper Street - the main street - is a beautiful street to stroll down, filled with casual cafes, sophisticated restaurants, funky bars, designer fashion boutiques and leafy parks (or greens as they sometimes like to call them). Whilst the main shopping complex (with cinema) is down near the "Angel" end of Upper Street, I actually much prefer the "Highbury & Islington" end of the street where my favourite bars and shops are located. If you are looking for fashion-forward designer fashion you can't go past "Labour of Love" or "Sefton Menswear". For original designer jewellery drop into Stephen Einhorn where they hand make everything in the workshop out the back of the shop. For an expertly mixed mojito or amaratto sour visit the intimate 25 Canobury Lane, the funky Cedar Lounge or hip Medicine Bar. Feeling peckish? Drop into Eurphorium Bakery & Cafe for one of their fresh cream Chocolate Eclairs and good coffee. For dinner you can't miss the Fig & Olive restaurant with its modern mediterranean cuisine and amazing deserts. Carluccio's, Fish Works and Ottolenghi are also a treat. As I am a culture vulture I also love the Kings Head Pub Theatre and Almeida Theatres. So basically, I can spend an entire weekend just in Islington. Don't get me started on Notting Hill and Wimbledon Village!

(Report Problem)london is great! The only reason I don't go much is because it's so far from Manchester. I love all the tourist spots, especially Madame Tussauds and Edgware Rd. We stayed for a week and went with family- there's so much to do.
