Overall
I've been both a tourist and a resident of Edinburgh. It is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been too, with lots of historical buildings including a medieval castle. The city is also very cosmopolitan with several theatres. There are fabulous bars, restaurants and shopping. The city has a small-town feel - it's definitely a walk-able city. Close by are parks, beaches, cliffs, golf, sailing. Can be crowded in August during Arts & Fringe Festival
