I lived here for 3 years. If you must visit here, it's maybe got enough to do for a few hours tops ... Montreux with Chillon castle on the other side of the lake that Geneva sits is more worthwhile - and if you merely want a Swiss fondue meal, can simply go to the main Swiss city, Zurich, or else a ski village. Geneva is also a bit dirty for a Swiss city, and has a bit more of a nervous, impulsive French feel (terrible traffic, cars try to run you down) than the more peaceful German-speaking parts of the country. Anyway, don't be fooled - this city has a high profile because the United Nations is here; not because it is an exciting place.
