Snow storm in Stockholm

three stars

I flew into Skansa and it was 90 minute busride into Stockholm. It was -6C when I arrived and snowing lightly, I went into Gamla Stam and saw the royal palace as well as the various historical buildings they have over there. I booked my hotel through visitstockholm.com and it gave me the Stockholm card which has free entries into most of the museums around as well as free public transport. I stayed at the Clarion in Soderholm, it is a new hotel near the Skustall tube station. On sunday, the weather was even worst with a snowstorm most of them which made walking around quite difficult, I saw the sites in the new city as well as Djurgarden and went to the Nordiska museum and army museum, at the army museum all the displays are in swedish. I was thinking about going to open air museum Skansen but the weather was so bad I decided against it. They also have free boat trips on the stockholm card but these weren't available when I went but become active in April.

My Favorite City

five stars

Stockholm has been my favorite city to visit since the first time I went there - and I've been to about 15 countries so far. Sweden, along with other Scandinavian countries, hasn't really been in the major spotlight of the European tourism, but it's got so much to offer! Why follow the crowd in France or Italy? Sweden's got the perfect weather in the summer (mind you in Midsummer, the sun doesn't set at all in parts of Sweden). Stockholm, a city made of many islands, has got lots of action. You've got some great museums, an amusement park, lots of water and sun and really impressive architecture/design. If you want to take day trips, the Swedish countryside is just less than an hour away!
