Hi, Everyone: I just got back from an extended travel stay in Barcelona (three weeks in February). A quick highlight. I went to a great classical music (guitar and art song sung by solo soprano) concert in the Iglesia del Pi which is right off the main Rambla. It was only 15 euros and it was really cool to see a very, very good performance of Spanish music in a Spanish church! (It was nice to be in the Gothic Quarter since the restaurant we were going to that night was only about 10 minutes walking away.) The series was called Songs of Spain and I think the website is www.songsofspain.com if you want to check performance dates. I found out about it from a guy standing in front of some posters handing out flyers in front of the Gothic Cathedral. This made me a bit skeptical about how "local" the audience would be but it turned out to be almost entirely Spanish as far as I could tell. Anyway, totally recommended and I even bought the soprano's CD after the concert. (She left before I could get her to sign it, though. Sigh.)

(Report Problem)I have been to Barcelona 2 times and it has alot of things todo. I went to go visit family in Barcelona. Guadi's work is out of this world and you can go and visit the Olympic Stadium. Weather is always very nice and hot in the summer. Beautiful women everywhere. Its a city worth visiting.

(Report Problem)Barcelona is city full of the wonderful architecture of Gaudi. This magical architect has placed his stamp on this city, making it one of the most unique places in the world. It is a very urbanized city, so you will be bustling about with millions of others, but it is worth a visit--despite its expense.

(Report Problem)I spent 2 wonderful months in Barcelona. It is by far my favorite city in the world. I'm working on going back there. This city will never dissapoint you and there is something for everyone. If you love art visit the Museo Picasso and Parc Guell. Also don't miss La Sagrada Familia, it is a beautiful sight. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the sights of La Rambla, but make sure you see everything else this city has to offer.

(Report Problem)I've been to a few European destinations and after a while, all European cities start to take on a similar feel. Not Barcelona. Gaudi's influence has made the city something totally different.

(Report Problem)If I could, I would move to Barcelona in a heartbeat! Although I find that Barcelona is one of the more expensive places to visit in Spain (even though I'm from one of the most expensive places to live in the US - San Francisco), Barcelona is my favorite city in the world by far. The weather is agreeable all year round, being on the Mediterranean. Also, there is something to do for all interests: museums, architecture, opera at the Liceu, nightlife, cuisine, bar-hopping, outdoor cafes, people watching (especially on Las Ramblas). And everything is practically accessible via Barcelona's extensive Metro system (definitely buy a multi-day pass, you'll get your money's worth). Everytime I visit Europe, I always make it a point to visit my "second home".
