I stayed in a shared apartment a few minutes away from the port and the beach given to me by BCN Loft, a small company that rents rooms and apartments everywhere in city. I really loved the apartment and its a great way to meet new people. It was sunny during my whole stay and because i was near the beach, i was there during the day and in bars and cafes at night. Anyway i really recommend this company and they also organise parties which is great and they have their own website, www.bcnloft.com, so you can check where your room will be. All in all i enjoyed my stay and i love barca.

(Report Problem)When on holiday in Spain recently, i eagerly awaited visiting Barcelona. When i got there, it was the furthest thing from what i had imagined it would be, it had a constant stench of sewage, countless beggars on the filthy streets, and the same overpriced, unoriginal tourist shops everywhere you look. I spent the time i was there, terrified for my safety, and eager to leave. Worst of all, they had inhumanly overcrowded cages with animals in (a average cage, fit for 2 or 3 birds, had about 30 in) The visit to Barcelona put a real negative spin on my holiday. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favour, and DONT visit it! You will otherwise regret it, and wish you listened to this review.

(Report Problem)I found strolling the blvds of Barcelona to be fun and necer dull movement. When one has a digital camera always keep it handy in this city. Why? U don't know when something of interest if going to leap out of u. I enjoyed the tours Gaudi bldg and Segendo Famalia which is being restored. Everywhere on the streets, the restraunts life is hopping everywhere. One walk I would reccommend is the famous Las Ramblas,el makreto. My most enjoyment has been riding the trains from Sitges where I stayed into Barcelona Metro. And eat at one of the outside cafes and watch motorscooters, smart cars ride past u. Mind Barcelona is a fast pace city. I like return and explore more of the is capital of Catalonia.

The las ramblas shopping plce was great and the street theatre was exellente. I went to port aventure which is great if you have kids they have a parents area while the kids can run around an dgo on anything they like. it has the 2nd largest rollercoaster in the world. We went to a place called the spanish star and which is a hotel but no rooms only chalets. 4 outdoor swimming pools and 1 indoor. great fun for all the family! (Report Problem)We visited Barcelona last July. Lovely city to wander round. However, beware pick pockets. We saw 3 instances in as many days and were at the receiving end of one of them. Beware anybody who appears to be distracting you. These people are professionals. Please leave all your valuables at home or in the hotel security box. Carry only minimal money with you.

(Report Problem)The Expo hotel is very clean, organised, with a great breakfast buffet, and very polite and helpful people working there. Also good value for money, and very close to two metro/train stations. A great choice for travellers. Barcelona is a beautiful city, wonderful sites, parks, museums and almost everything one could ask from a holiday destination. However people there are so rude, excluding hotel staff. Found no bus driver, metro, restaurant, museum or shop staff able to say anything in plain English, or willing to help! Also prices are a bit extreme. I bought a 1,5ltr bottle of water for €2,50 in Las Ramblas, back home you get this for less than €0,70 euros. Dont try the tapas bars, we payed €81,50 in Las Ramblas, 4 people, nothing great, found no restaurant to offer a fair priced meal like, say ones you get to find in London. Entrance fees are also extreme. One of Gaudi desinger buildings has a fee of €16,50!!! Definately visit Barcelona, it is great, beautiful, colorful, alive and interesting, but...watch your budget!!!

(Report Problem)I had only been in Barcelona for about two hours when I was robbed. Not a great start to a holiday. With my wife, I had visited La Pedrera, which was one block from our hotel. Feeling good, we decided that we would walk to the Sagrada – first mistake (don’t walk in unpopulated areas)! Feeling thirsty, we stopped at a small bar for a beer and a bite to eat. Unknown to us, it is possible that we were already being watched. We left the bar and within moments it felt as though I had been targeted from above by one of Barcelona’s many parrots or pigeons. I raised my hand to my head to feel the mess. I stood looking at the gunk on my hand. From nowhere, a well-dressed man appeared. He also looked skywards and mumbled to himself. In broken English, he then offered to help me clean myself up – my jacket was also covered, as was my wife’s – this was no ordinary parrot pooh – but one specially concocted for the occasion. Another mistake – do not accept offers of help, even though they may seem genuine. The man then asked us to follow him, as he would find water to help clean me up. We followed – an even bigger mistake. He took us to the entrance of a block of flats, where he immediately found a bottle of water and some tissues (he was well prepared). He began cleaning the mess from my hair and back. He helped me to remove my jacket to make things easier (for him). Suddenly, he said he had to go – to fetch paper. He did not return. We decided to leave the scene. I continued to rearrange my clothing. At once, I noticed that my wallet was missing. My mystery helper had helped himself. Now you may say that we were stupid - perhaps we were. We were caught off-guard in a strange place and we did things that we shouldn’t have. But who was it that committed the crime? And then there was my first mistake, I had been carrying far too many valuables – cash, credit cards, cameras. In some respects, we were lucky – I only lost my wallet. We were not threatened with violence and we were not harmed. And there was only one robber. It could have been much worse. But it did spoil our time in Barcelona (which is a beautiful city) and the chances are that we will never return.

(Report Problem)First of all, Las Ramblas is completely over-rated. Secondly, the people aren't as friendly as in other parts of Spain. thought it was ok but it didn't rock my world. Easter time may not be the best time to go - soem places shut down.
