Venice is great for 1 day
Beaming with life and memories you won't forget. I heard it can be stinky but I was there 3 times and never encountered the problem. Stay at the brand new Holiday inn express outside venice and drive in.

The most distinct place I loved about Venice was San Marco Square. I very much enjoyed my walks and getting lost in the crowd early mornings and nights. The people of Venice was quite pleasant and helpful in giving directions to tourist. The hotel I stayed in was very clean and hospitable. It was truly a remarkable and enjoyable vacation I will never forget.

I loved shopping and cruising there, and riding on the canals. The food was wonderful and the people very friendly. However, don't go during the tourist season. Unlike London, Paris and Rome, Venice is NOT big enough to absorb all the tourists that invade it. When I went, the line to get into St. Mark's Basilica stretched all the way around the building - so I didn't wait. Not only that, too many tourists are rude, obnoxious, pushy, and loud. Go in January, when it's fairly empty. You'll enjoy it a lot more.

The city was very smelly. All the drainage fron the restrooms was floating in the water. I would not recommend it. People were nice and the architecture is amazing.

My husband and I went there. Venice just feels like a place which is out the whole wold. Very peaceful,calm and poise. We stayed there for 4 days and still felt like less. Would love to go again and stay there longer

I loved the canals and gondolas and the architecture. And the streets that are more like mazes are fun too. St. Peter's Square is beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was the hotel and the difficulty in communicating with the people (get ride to airport,etc.)

Absolutely beautiful. Friendly people, great food, charming city. Only negative was taking the vaporetto and then pulling suitcase to hotel. Spring for the water taxis, they are worth it.

One of the outstanding destinations in Europe. I have traveled a lot, and I can't imagine a more wonderful city for full-on engagement of mind, body and soul.
