Amazing city. So much to offer and a must visit for everyone who can make it. Only down side was the cost of food/drink and rather poor quality at times. Nightlife shuts down rather early (although we found a pub with live music ipen until late that particular night) so maybe not so good for singles but as a couple it cannot be beaten.

(Report Problem)My lovely wife and I went to England, France and Italy for our honeymoon and Venice was just spectacular! We spent a week in Venice and there was just so much to see and do. We never had the feeling of being rushed either. Everyone in their life time must have Venice as one of their ‘must see’ cities.

(Report Problem)I have been seven years on the trot and will keep going back for as long as we can. Great place not cheap but thats life. Great atmosphere the sound of the water. The great shops. If you go don't miss the three island. Burano lace island very nice Murano Glass blowing island a bit bigger but just as nice Torcello not much there but still worth a look. Avoid eating on the front or in st marks square not cheap at all.

(Report Problem)we have just come back from a five day trip to venice, much too long, it is a city that should be visited at least once but a day is enough, the food is very overpriced and not that good, souviniers are overpriced and very tacky, the public transport system is a rip off, a trip for a tourist on the grande canal is 5 euro one way but for a venetian it is 60 cents, Murano glass fatory's are a rip off, you get a two min glass blowing exhibition and then a high pressured sales pitch, one single wine glass is about £150 dont go.

(Report Problem)WE SPENT 4 DAYS IN VENICE IN FEB 2005. IT WAS SOOO BORING! THE FIRST DAY WE WENT TO ST MARKS SQUARE AND THAT WAS LOVLY BUT THAT WAS IT. ITS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR EVERYTHING, COVER CHARGES IN MOST RESTAURANTS OF 2-4EURO PER PERSON. AS FOR THE ROMANTIC GONDOLAS, WHAT A JOKE!! YOU CAN SPEND UP TO 100EURO ON A 45MIN GONDOLA RIDE! THE CANALS ARE FILTHY AND SMELLY AND ALL THE GONDOLA GUYS ARE ALWAYS SHOUTING/TALKING TO EACH OTHER. NOT MY IDEA OF ROMANCE ANYWAY. ON OUR VISIT THERE WAS A WATER BOAT STRIKE FOR TWO DAYS WHICH MEANT LOADS OF WALKING WHICH WAS OK EXCEPT FOR THE BEGGERS ON THE STREETS HASSLING YOU FOR MONEY. OVER ALL I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VENICE TO ANYONE AS ITS TOTALLY OVER RATED, VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY BORING.
