Absolutely beautiful. The people are friendly and the artistry is breath taking.

(Report Problem)Being a back packer in Florence can be hard. The great works of art are broken up into various museums making it hard to visit. A backpacker on a budget cannot visit and pay the entrance fees for all the museums. I also found the food more expensive the more north I traveled in Italy.

(Report Problem)When I lived there, years ago, Florence was a rather quiet town. Now it has gained so much popularity that it rivals Venice and Rome. But it is a small town, really, like Venice, and that makes it get crowded easily. It used to be relatively cheap. No more. Five stars overall even though some facets of it today are less than wonderful.

(Report Problem)Florence has been one of my favorite places to go. I love the food and the fact that some of the sights are within walking distance to one another. One beautiful place that I like to go to is the Piazza Michelangelo which is across from the Arno. It has a beautiful view of Florence. You can go up there at the crack of dawn and spectacular shots of the city or at night with all the city lights. The only caveat about the evening is that the Piazza may be filled with teens and couples who are up there to smooch. Not a fun experience if you are by yourself just want to photograph the area or if you are taking your elderly parents.

(Report Problem)When planning our trip, I really wanted to see Florence. From all of my art history books it looked like it would be an awesome place. Unfortunately, all of the things you see in the books, are so big and grand in scale that you can't actually appreciate them from the streets... there just isn't a good view. Besides that, you're constantly being squished between trouists and vagrants. If you go, don't take anything with you but your clothes! The only nice thing I experienced in Florence were the Iris Gardens. In May they host an international show. It's gorgeous.

(Report Problem)We enjoyed this hotel and the employees who were eager to please us. If you leave housekeeping a tip, you will be guaranteed a chocolate on your pillow every night. IT was very clean and convenient. The restaurant recommendations from the conceirge were excellent! Perfect setting for a beautiful city.
