This place is extremely cold. It's ok the atmosphere is great but the locals spoil the city. I was nationally abused by a local who wanted me to say how bad bad are all the EU immigrants who take their jobs, despite Ireland has helped too much from EU. I was sitting in a pub and the locals were watching me like alien "who are these outsiders?". I was abused by 3 youngsters maybe school boys who were speaking like gypsies and I suppose their were making comments to me about my foreign nationality. I hardly could recognize the "n...er" word. What the hell? This place is so cold and unfriendly...

(Report Problem)Lack of warmth wherever I have been in this city and especially in Ireland. I dont know why the irish are so cold and they dont like foreigners all that match.

(Report Problem)best session we've seen while in Ireland was at The Western Hotel on a Thursday night, a mega-jam of local musicians, great atmosphere & cameraderie

(Report Problem)avoid galway, its too small and every pub theres the same as the next,no underground scene whatsoever and the locals are full of shit,at least the ones you meet in the pubs there.fine if you like small towns but avoid it if you like bigger ones.

(Report Problem)Galway is a small but impressive town. It is clean and has some great sights like Eyre Square and the Cathedral as well as historic sights. It has a small town feel. Some of the streets are very quaint and idyllic. The people are great and the food is good. Its also one of the cheaper destinations in Ireland. It also has great nightlife for young and middle aged people. Just down the road is Salthill a resort town with a leisure centre, some nice hotels, arcades, a few nice restaurants and a beautiful stretch of coastline. A short drive away is the ferry link to the Aran Islands, one of the most spectacularly scenic areas in Ireland and a must see if you are in the area. On a sunny day the water is a tropical green and perfectly clear. The views of the island and Atlantic Ocean from the cliffs are amazing and the ruined forts on the island are wonderful and interesting. The whole landscape of these quaint little islands is unbeatable Galway has a lot to offer any visitor

(Report Problem)Galway has everything you could want, a fabulous bustling city and stunning scenery in and around the county. The Arann Islands are definitely worth a visit for the views, the people and the handmade gifts. Irelands oldest carnival takes place the first weekend of August every summer in Ballygar and is a must for the family (the pubs and bands in the evenings are great for the adults too). The Galway Races at the end of July are definite must, they run for the week and include Ladies Day which is a great day out (and usually spills into the evening). There are numerous fabulous towns and villages around the county which make galway the perfect place to visit. The food, the shopping, the people and the places make this a perfect destination for anyone looking for a holiday!
