Overall
Paris, although it has potential to be a fun destination, is in no way "la ville de romance" (I figure it was an lovesick Southern Bell who coined this phrase." The Parisians are a very private people but this does not mean much when two couples are sharing one cramped park bench in order to view the garden that would be beauiful were it not for all the other visiters. You want fun: Paris is where it's at. You want romance: I suggest Calvi (Corsica).
